Adherents of NLP often after some psychotherapists of many rationally-minded people are called digitalis. It seems that this is incorrect, since a rationally thinking person can be both digital and rational, and these concepts should not be confused. Digital is a rational person, devoid of the ability to understand feelings and speak the language of feelings, in this respect, a person is somewhat flawed. Rational rational man - a person who can understand the feelings and is able to speak the language of the senses, but preferring to communicate clear meanings and reasonable logic.
Compare: kinesthetic - perceives sensations, audial - sounds, visual - images and images.
The rational is not so important a beautiful picture, sonorous words or bodily sensations, he is all important in meaning and that everything is clear. Just "rejoice" - it’s not very clear to him, but if he sees the point in rejoicing and laughing, he will do it. It is tasty to eat - why? He will better estimate the amount of food, the availability of the necessary vitamins and calories, then make a decision.
You can learn the rationale by using the characteristic phrases: You need to think ... Do I understand correctly? Is this reasonable? Why do we do this? Why do we do this? Wait, let’s do it differently, so it will be more logical. It is more logical to assume this. Logically things go ... Turn your head!
Rational is usually not emotional, calm, prudent - not because it can not in another way, but because it is so familiar and seems more reasonable. He likes to use terms and definitions in speech, the meaning of which he knows well. He likes to clarify the meaning of words, agree on the scope of concepts - and in principle agree. Feel, intuitive - he can, but it’s not his. Thought, analyzed, made a decision - it’s closer to him.
Rationals are more often men, although there may be women among them. Rational most often speaks of "female illogicality," he is closer to man’s discretion. It is more often - researchers and people of science.
If there is a rationale before you, leave poetic pictures and lofty images: it is better to speak with such a person with simple, clear, rather short sentences - and, most importantly, whenever possible consistently, logically. Tell him about your feelings - it’s pointless, he will just wait until you finish, then he can ask: "Why did you tell me this?" or "And what follows from this?"
Such a person is sure that each statement should have a logical conclusion, otherwise why did you say this?
The rational, perhaps, at some points resembles a schizoid, namely, a propensity for logic and cold discretion, but unlike a schizoid, he is quite adequate in life, can easily (when needed) be warm and soulful, his face, eyes and speech alive and interesting. Sometimes this is simply called - an intelligent person, and we will not call an intelligent person digital! Or maybe it’s just homo sapiens in its pure form, that is, a reasonable person?
