Self-development is development out of oneself, from an internal source. When a person is happy to learn something new, learns new things, learns new skills - a person is busy with self-development.
"A drama circle, a photo gallery, and also want to sing ..." - in contrast to self-improvement, where a person ponders the goals of his development, plans his development, self-development is mostly a spontaneous process. In self-development, a person does not plan, at least clearly, in which direction he will develop himself, rather choosing what his heart tells him and what he "goes on." Self-development is the active development of oneself in the directions determined by the innate characteristics and abilities of a person.
Paradoxical as it may seem to children, self-development is not peculiar, or peculiar in a small degree: children are all interested, but their rapid development is the result of their high sensitivity rather than their propensity for self-development. Children are interested in playing and having fun, and high sensitivity to what surrounds them and what adults give them, ensures their development. The propensity to self-development for children is not given to children, but is instilled in adults.
Or does not get vaccinated, and then the children grow like vegetables, not understanding why they need to learn something and learn something.
In Moscow, at an international congress on psychology, there was a discussion about deprivation and a mental experiment was proposed with Robinson. The scientists were asked: imagine that on the island with all the favorable conditions (food, water, television, all things) was a 5-year-old child. Question: Will the development of the child occur, or will it remain at the same level? The answer was unanimous: no, there will be no development. The child has no propensity for self-development, it can arise later if the child is taught this.
Interest in self-development is usually characteristic of adolescence and adolescence, when there is a lot of energy, and there are still no big tasks in life: there is no family, work does not oblige, and school and other studies do not take the most time. Most adults are not up to self-development, people are busy with work, earning money, children and entertainment, and only closer to retirement propensity to self-development wakes up again.
And then people go to Turkey not just to lie on the beach, but to go on excursions, and not just put a tick "was on the tour," but beforehand read about historical places, begin to think and understand.
If it is important for you to develop yourself, if you want to do this seriously, and not as one of the entertainment, you need to do it all the same as planned, like any other serious matter. In this case, it will be development not only because you now like it and you have gone well, but because you know what features, abilities and competencies you need to develop, you understand how you will do it - and do it, rejoice qualitative results.
