5-day intensive development of modalities

In NLP there is a concept of a representative system (modality). A representative system is an advantageous way of processing, storing and replaying previously received information. There are 3 main representative systems, or modalities:

1. Visual. People who have more developed this modality perceive information through images. From such people you can hear / read the phrases: "I see", "This room with bright wallpaper and a beautiful sofa."

2. The auditory. People with this advanced modality rely on sound images. Such people often say: "I heard that...", "This room is very quiet."

3. Kinesthetic. People with a predominant modality are better at perceiving information through sensations. People with this modality say: "I feel, I have a feeling", "I am comfortable in this room."

Together Visual, Audial and Kinesthetic representative systems are called VAK.

4. Additional rational. These people have everything structurally and it’s easier for them to perceive everything through numbers, tables, etc. People with this modality say: "I think, I believe that...", "In this room there are 2 sofas, 2 people live and the cost of painting on the wall is 15 000 rubles."

Each of us perceives information through all channels of perception, but most often the majority prevails. We need to develop all channels. What for?

1. Best communication with people. If you communicate with kinestetik in his language, you will find the general and he will understand you faster. It is useful to all of us.

2. Discovering the wealth of the world and getting real pleasure from the outside world. You will be overwhelmed by a huge number of images, sounds, sensations... and you will feel, see, hear what you did not pay attention to or that always passed you.

Intensive

The goal: for 5 days to develop their audible, visual, rational and kinesthetic representative systems and perceive the world in its entirety!

Day 1. Visual perception and colors of the world

Today’s task: to look, see, contemplate, observe, view, imagine.

Study and enjoy colors and shades, shapes, sizes, textures... What’s around you now? How many items and colors? Break away from the text and learn the walls, the floor and your clothes surrounding people. How many will you see muffled and bright colors? What are the sizes of objects? And what’s behind the window? What kind of cars, what are people wearing, and how are they painted at home? And how long have you looked at the sky and peered into its depth and bottomlessness? And when they admired nature? And how many shades of leaves do you see in the park? Today is the time!

If possible, climb higher and look at the city: night or day? How many will see all or have the opportunity in the park or in the countryside to admire nature. How many shades of foliage will you see? The Russian physiologist I. Pavlov believed that the human eye can discern more than 100,000 shades...

Watch exciting landscapes (if there is an opportunity, then live), if not, then find a beautiful picture on the Internet and consider it or any object that will be first to your eyes. For example, what’s at hand: a smartphone or a computer mouse. Look tonight to the night sky: to the moon and the stars... And play with your imagination. Remembering and drawing as an artist bright pictures, I color and background, the number of details and shapes.

Day 2. The audial. Today we listen and hear

The sounds of nature, the city, the voices of people... Once, with a familiar musician, we discussed a famous band. I said that they actually "sang so-so and the lyrics are the same for them," to which he said: "Did you listen to texts in addition to music? What kind of transitions does the guitarist do, how coolly does the drummer work?!..."

Today the whole world of sounds is ours! Listen to the surrounding. Lay out the sounds according to the constituent elements: if it’s music or the noise of the city. What elements can be heard there, what is the focus on? Listen to the sounds that are next to you and concentrate on the sounds of distant ones. If there are many sounds around, concentrate on each one in turn. Find beauty in every sound, try to combine them and hear two or three at a time.

Listen to today’s music that you do not normally include. Listen to the voice of the other person and to your own. Listen to silence.

If one works a day, then one can always learn to hear what other people do not hear before, and before that you yourself. And you can then get indescribable pleasure from music for the rest of your life.

Day 3. Kinesthetic. Feel

Feel your body: when washing your hands, smiling, sit in a soft armchair, drink tea (and when was the last time you enjoyed it?), And how delicious the water is? What feelings do you feel today to the full extent? Include kinesthetic: touch things, touch, enjoy them and enjoy them! air, warm water, sunlight, paper - what is it all about? What sensations? How much around everything is soft, warm, cool... Feel what it wants and asks your body.

Feel another person (you can work on cats: they love it :). What does he feel? How would he be pleased that you touched him. Jump into the man, stay with them, feel: what’s he like? How could he be more comfortable with you? If it’s with the soul to work, then it’s very easy to communicate with others. Cats certainly will not give a pass, and people too :)

Day 4. Rational. Looking for meaning in everything

`Your questions today: What? For what? What for? Why so? How many options are available and which ones? How will be better? How can it not work out? How many? Ask questions for everything. Connect curiosity and be Sherlock Holmes: study and pay attention to the details. Measure, match, learn, count, analyze...

The vase on the table. What is it for? What is it made of? How much does it weigh? Why this form? How is it done? And if the bottom had a different format? Why a vase and why it can be used? How to improve? What to add? Size, shape, how much it weighs... The aphorism or thought caught. Study: why it is said exactly so, why did the author say that he wanted? How would it be better? And in general, how many sentences and words did he say in each?

Day 5. Bleeding all representative systems

In the previous 5 days we woke up our representative systems, deepened our sensations and I think right now, the world has become much brighter, louder, more comfortable, bigger, steeper! Also it would be desirable to fight, it would be desirable to strengthen further and more effect?

Today is the most delicious and powerful task: intensive. We turn on all the way. The task: to include for 5 minutes each system: 5 minutes visual, 5 minutes audial, 5 minutes kinesthetic, 5 minutes of rationality and 5 minutes for silence and "here and now". Cut a maximum of every five minutes. If you look - just look, if you listen - just listen, feel - just feel... Squeeze the maximum! Change the volume, amplify and reduce the sensations: play with representative systems, learn to manage and get from them real pleasure!

After every five minutes, 1-2 minutes of rest on the record and rest, rethinking or additional sensation. Approaches: about 3 per day.

Conclusions

In fact, we use all our representative systems. Our task: to learn to focus on them. And for this week we have learned / remembered / extra pumped. And now, after intensive work - in ordinary life it can be used by making the accent only visual or audial, or comprehensively paying attention to something. For example, reading a book. You can read and get pleasure from the font and illustrations, smell the book and the roughness of the paper, listen to the way the book is scrolled and how it is put on the table. Count the number of pages and ponder over the text... Now the task can include (or rather strengthen) those systems that are needed. it seems to me that this is the next step and the standard of living. You can say that now "I live a full life"... What do you think? What conclusions do you have? Write your report:

1. What has changed in your life in these 6 days? What did you add to it?

2. What was the most memorable?

3. What do I take to life?

4. What kind of representative systems will I work on next?
