In academic psychology the term "subject", "subjectivity" is popular and the concept "author", "author s position" is less widespread. There is a feeling that these concepts are very close, sometimes they are used as synonyms. How do these concepts really relate? Apparently, the author of his life - always a subject, but not every subject is in a responsible - the author’s position. In this case, the line of internal activity has the form: Object - Victim - Subject - Author.
In practical psychology, the transfer from the position of the Victim to the position of the Author is an important part of the advisory work.
Often, clients see problems where they do not exist. Discuss disagreement is horror? Fly on the plane - scary? People will see that you are crying: is there a problem in what? - When the client moves to the author’s position, all these horror stories disappear by themselves.
While the client is in the state of Victim, he demonstrates his helplessness, in which case all the work (and all responsibility) falls on the counselor psychologist. If only he manages to transfer the client to the position of the Author, he himself removes his fears and problems, rethinks the situation himself, restores himself a normal state.
As a rule, the change of position on the author’s should be prepared both by establishing contact with the psychologist and by normalizing the client’s condition. If the girl is completely in disassembled feelings, eyes are swimming or in tears, then claiming the position of the Author is premature, before that, work with emotions and client s state is needed.
On the other hand, the strong demand of the author’s position, as a shock effect, can paradoxically lead a person into himself.
